Training on Difference-in-Differences Methods – By Clément de Chaisemartin

Ahead of the 41st Applied Microeconomics Days (Journées de Microéconomie Appliquée, JMA), a training session will be dedicated to difference-in-differences (DiD) identification methods, led by Clément de Chaisemartin, one of the leading contributors to recent advances in this field.

The training will begin with an overview of the standard difference-in-differences framework, before exploring the most recent methodological developments, particularly those related to staggered treatment timing and the underlying assumptions of these approaches. This session will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into new methods that allow for more robust identification of causal effects in the presence of dynamic and heterogeneous treatments.

The training will take place at the University of Poitiers, in the Faculty of Economics (the same venue as JMA 2025), on Wednesday, June 4, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and then on Thursday, June 5, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. It will be followed by the JMA opening lecture.

To attend this training session, registration is mandatory and subject to a fee. To register, please follow this link.
